ABOUT　KODAIRA　CITY

Kodaira City is where blueberries were first cultivated in Japan, introduced by Hayao Iwagaki, “the father of blueberries”. The city hosts many farms where you can buy fruits and vegetables straight from the growers or even pick your own blueberries.  Pears and grapes are also grown in Kodaira

OPEN　GARDEN

The open garden is an activity for opening a personal garden to the public. Kodaira Tourism Association is distributing Kodaira Green Road & Open Garden Map and will soon be uploaded on the web with GPS.

 Kodaira Green Road:  Enjoy cycling or walking

Green Road is 21 km of walking path that sprawls through Kodaira. Its made of four separate paths that connect: Tamagawajosui walking path, Nobidome Irrigation Canal, the Sayama-Sakai Scenic Road, and Koganei park. Water infrastructure that was built back in the Edo era runs along side all the paths.

ACCESS:  25 mi. from Shinjyuku

It takes about 25 min. from Shinjyuku Sta. to Kokubunji Sta. by JR Chuo line.

It takes about 28 min. from Seibu-shinjyuku  to Kodaira Sta. by Seibu line.
